Internet Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

  • Progressive side bets: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker often have one of these. You usually put a wager ($1 is the usual value) to try to win a bonus jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Although huge jackpots like these are particularly appealing, they are also very difficult to win. You might need to hit a Royal Flush in order to hit this wager. Also, picture this- you play 20 hands and put the side wager every time. That is twenty dollars you could have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker wager. Picture what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds using that twenty dollars.
  • Individual number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This takes the complete casino advantage from 2percent with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5% in American. The one number wager has just a one in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers alternately which have a much lower casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you wager on it, the casino edge can be a huge twenty-five percent. Yes, that isn’t a typo. Due to the huge amount of numbers you must choose, it is not recommended to wager on Keno to often. A few times for enjoyment, perhaps. But don’t waste all your money on it or you’ll quickly find yourself bankrupt.
